Directions

This rare treasure of a pleasure spot is open only during the summer season and is truly the alpha and omega of MYSTERY HOLES in these beautiful West Virginia hills, often referred to as "ALMOST HEAVEN".  The hole is located parallel to US Route 60 one mile west of "HAWKS NEST" State Park".  About half way between Honey Creek and Turkey Creek near the east end of a series of snake curves.  It is sandwiched between an old Army type Quonset hut and a dark, lonely void where only vacuum dares to tread. 

This may be the last and final attempt to make plain this hard to explain MYSTERY HOLE, where the Laws of Gravity seem to have gone berserk and left so many people puzzled and bewildered.  

Now that you've read and digested this story I believe you understand what you think I've said, but I am not quite sure you realize that what you've read is not what I meant.

The rest of the story is still classified as secret and may never be told.  Everyone needs to experience the MYSTERY HOLE for themselves because Seeing is Believing!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:

From the North (Charleston, WV)

From 164/77 South, take Exit 96 which is US Route 60 (Midland Trail Scenic Highway)

Follow US 60 east to the Midland Trail Mile Marker 101.  We are apporximately 45 miles from Charleston and 1 mile before Hawks Nest State Park.

From the South (Beckley, WV)

From 164/77 North, take the Route 19 Exit.  Follow Route 19 to the US Route 60 Exit (Midland Trail Scenic Highway).  This exit is about 5 miles from the New River Gorge Bridge.  When you come to the stop sign, turn right heading west towards Gauley Bridge/Ansted.  We are located approximately 9 miles from Route 19 at the 101 Mile Marker.  We are 1 mile past Hawks Nest State Park and 3 miles from Ansted.

From the East

From 164 take the Sam Black Church Exit.  Turn right on to US Route 60 heading West.  Follow Route 60 West to the 101 Mile Marker.  We are located 3 miles from Ansted, WV and 1 mile past Hawks Nest State Park.
